Bentley Prince Street Receives WRAP award for Recycling
Bentley Prince Street is one of 280 California businesses and nonprofit organizations to be named a 2011 Waste Reduction Award Program winner by the Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery. CalRecycle selected each winner based on its reported waste prevention, recycling and composting, procurement and educational activities. Since the inception of WRAP in 1993, Bentley Prince Street has won the award a total of eleven times, and consecutively since 2003, for its outstanding waste reduction programs.
Bentley Prince Street’s focus on integrating style and function with environmentally responsible practices has resulted in $230,000 in recycling revenue, $57,000 in cost savings and 927 tons of waste diversion last year. Together, this year’s WRAP honorees have diverted more than 2.3 million tons of material from landfills and recorded more than $200 million in cost savings from their waste reduction efforts. Other WRAP honorees include Apple, Google, Samsung, San Diego Padres Petco Park, Toyota, Yahoo! and Waste Management. To view a full list of winners visit CalRecyle’s website.
