*Damian Besculides AIA has joined Perkins Eastman‘s New York office as Associate Principal.
*Rick Carter has been elected by the Southern California Institute of Architecture to join its Board of Trustees. The SCI-Arc Board includes noted individuals such as Frank Gehry, Thom Mayne, Ted Tanner, Kevin Ratner and Tom Gilmore. The trustees unanimously elected Carter during their quarterly meeting held January 19-20 in Los Angeles.
*Quentin Kong was appointed at Inscape Corporation as Executive Vice President, Marketing & Product Development. He leads the new marketing organization which includes the Product Development, Workplace Strategy and Marketing Communications groups.
*Julia Nugent, AIA was named a Principal at HMFH Architects. Nugent joined HMFH Architects early in her career and returned to the firm in 2010 as a senior associate. In the interim,Ms. Nugent ran her own practice and established herself in the world of higher educational design.
*Jim Sherbert has stepped down as CEO of Bush Industries and will retire this spring. Sherbert, who has served as CEO of Bush Industries since August 2005, will continue to serve in a transitional role until his retirement date and assist with efforts such as international affairs. Jim Garde, who has served as CFO and most recently as president of the BBF Division, assumes leadership of Bush Industries.
*Kirk Stewart has joined IA Interior Architects as Project Director. He will be based in Los Angeles.
*Parsons The New School for Design has announced the appointment of new directors for its Master of Architecture and Master of Arts in Design Studies programs.
- Architect Andrew Bernheimer, who has taught in the program the past four years, will lead the Master of Architecture program, succeeding David Leven of Leven Betts Studio
- Noted design scholar and longtime faculty member Susan Yelavich will direct the new Master of Arts in Design Studies program, which launches this fall.
